The design is intended to encourage curiosity and play, incorporating the school’s “Little Cougar” mascot, which was lovingly deemed “Norris” after local creator and illustrator, Norris Hall. The design team worked closely with Mr. Hall to align the Cougar’s vibrant styling with interior design outcomes.

The final solution resulted in an active scene of the Little Cougar playfully blowing “bubbles” that span three of the four walls within the Enrichment Space. Each bubble contains the names of the generous “Friends of the ELC”.

Paired with the donor installation, a custom floor graphic was designed as an indoor gross motor engagement piece. This “path” is composed of four centers of play, each with a title rooted in Biblical motifs and paired with Montessori-style play elements: “Trust” pairs with a wooden balance beam; “Create” pairs with silicone LEGO mats; “Walk” pairs with stepping stones; and “Seek” pairs with trucks moving through a maze. Elements complement the rich wood grain and bright pops of brand colors found throughout the ELC.
