Trolley Barns /

Located in Nashville’s Rolling Mill Hill district, the historic Trolley Barns property is comprised of six individual buildings serving the commercial office and hospitality markets. Colliers partnered with Hawkins Partners and Sift Design Co. to lead a series of exterior, landscape, and graphic improvements aimed at repositioning the property within Nashville’s rapidly evolving real estate market while honoring its storied past.

NASHVILLE, TENNESSEE

Project goals focused on elevating Trolley Barns’ presence within Nashville’s expanding real estate market by developing a cohesive visual identity rooted in the site’s WPA and New Deal–era history. Sift created a new brand system establishing consistent font families, color palettes, and brand assets that balance historic reverence with contemporary appeal.

The brand was translated into a comprehensive exterior signage and wayfinding system, including property identification, directional signage, and a simplified campus map. Each building was assigned a distinct color, introduced on perimeter signage to orient visitors upon arrival and reinforced through building-mounted corner signage deeper within the site. These corner signs identify building tenants and include simplified maps to clearly convey tenant entrances, unifying the multi-building campus through a clear and intuitive wayfinding experience.
